In Massachusetts, State Police Respond to Route 95 Sharon Crash

On 03/26/2006 at about 5:45 a.m., State Police from the Foxboro Barracks responded to a two-car crash on Route 95 North, north of exit 8, in Sharon.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Brian McKenna indicates that 37-year-old Lisa Decesare of Cumberland, RI, was traveling on Route 95 North in a 1996 Honda sedan when her vehicle was rear-ended by a 1994 Toyota Camry operated by 20-year-old David Santiago of Weymouth.   The force of this collision caused Decesare’s vehicle to travel through the left side guardrail and down an embankment in the median.   The Camry then also traveled through the guardrail and rolled over on top of the Honda.

Santiago was transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.  Decesare was transported by ambulance to Norwood Hospital for treatment of Minor injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time, however, investigators believe that speed and driver inattention were contributing factors.   Sharon Fire and EMS, Foxboro Fire and EMS and the Massachusetts Highway Department assisted at the scene.
